Frame.io Enhances Platform with New Features

Frame.io Enhances Platform with New Security and Compatibility Features

Following its acquisition by Adobe in 2021, Frame.io, a leading video collaboration and review platform, has rolled out several updates aimed at enhancing user experience and security.

These updates include the introduction of forensic watermarking for improved security, support for Microsoft Office files for better workflow integration, and the addition of FUJIFILM X100VI camera integration with Frame.io’s Camera-to-Cloud (C2C) service. These features have been developed in response to feedback from users seeking more robust security measures and greater file compatibility.

Forensic Watermarking for Enhanced Security

A notable upgrade to Frame.io’s security features is the implementation of forensic watermarking. This new feature adds invisible watermarks to video files, making it possible to trace the source of any unauthorized sharing, editing, or downloading of sensitive content. Unlike traditional watermarking and digital rights management encryption, forensic watermarks are designed to withstand copying, screen recording, and external recording methods. Frame.io collaborates with NAGRA to investigate any content leaks, offering users detailed reports identifying the breach’s source, including asset IDs and user information. This feature is compatible with all video formats supported by Frame.io and can be easily activated by users within their accounts.

Integration of Microsoft Office Files

In an effort to streamline workflows, Frame.io now offers support for Microsoft Office files, enabling the preview of PowerPoint, Excel, and Word documents directly within the platform. This integration allows users to centralize their documents and video files, facilitating easier sharing and collaboration with clients and team members.

FUJIFILM X100VI Camera Integration

The recent updates also introduce the FUJIFILM X100VI camera as the latest addition to Frame.io’s C2C compatible devices. This integration allows for direct uploads of video and images from the camera to the Frame.io platform, significantly speeding up the post-production process.

These updates are available as a free upgrade to all existing Frame.io customers. The platform offers a free trial for up to two users with 2GB of storage, and the Pro plan, starting at $15 per month per user, includes 2TB of storage and supports up to five users.
