This series features a range of focal lengths from 19mm to 135mm, specifically designed to cater to the requirements of vintage cinema lens aficionados.
The lenses are distinguished by Fuji’s Electron Beam Coating (EBC) technology. This method involves applying multiple layers of metallic coatings to the lens glass, creating flares in unique colors like purple, red, and gold. These characteristics are not only a testament to the lens’ vintage appeal but also enhance its optical performance.
Design and Performance Features
Each lens in the series is engineered for exceptional sharpness at the center while providing a soft focus effect towards the edges. This design is complemented by slight spherical aberrations that add a soft glow to highlights. The robust construction includes a Fuji green Cerakote beauty ring and durable black anodizing, with clearly marked focus and iris scales.
Unique Addition to the Lens Set
Notably, the set includes a special 70mm f2 lens, designed by TLS to fill the gap between the 50mm and 100mm focal lengths using Fuji-sourced glass and proprietary optics. This lens is a unique complement to the already comprehensive set.
Purchasing Information
Limited quantities of these lenses are available through Ancient Optics. Potential buyers are advised that orders are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, dependent on the receipt of deposits.
