Fujifilm Updates X-H2 & X-H2S with Atomos Timecode Sync

Fujifilm has introduced new firmware updates for their X-H2 and X-H2S camera models, versions 3.10 and 5.10 respectively.

These updates include a significant feature: Timecode Synchronization Settings. This addition, found in the Timecode settings under video mode, enables synchronization of timecode with external devices.

Enhanced Connectivity with Atomos UltraSync BLUE
The updated firmware allows these cameras to connect with ATOMOS’ AirGlu accessory, the UltraSync BLUE, via Bluetooth. This connectivity facilitates the acquisition of timecode from the UltraSync BLUE, enabling synchronization with up to six cameras simultaneously. This feature mirrors the integration previously seen in the Nikon Z9 and Z8 models.

Improved Remote Recording Features
In conjunction with the FT-XH file transmitter, Fujifilm has also enhanced the connection method and display functionality of the remote recording feature. To utilize this enhancement, both the camera’s firmware and the FT-XH file transmitter’s firmware need to be updated. The update simplifies connection settings by allowing the automatic acquisition of MAC and IP addresses through a QR code scanned by a tablet’s camera app.

Multi-View and Clean Display Mode
A new Multi button has been added to the remote recording function. This button enables the splitting of the screen display into four sections, allowing simultaneous live view monitoring of multiple cameras. Users can revert to a single screen view by pressing the “Single” button. Additionally, a “Clean display mode” has been added, which displays only the live view, eliminating other screen elements.

Enhanced User Interface and Bluetooth Connectivity
The firmware update also brings improvements to the user interface. When the camera is connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth, both a smartphone icon and a Bluetooth icon will now be displayed on the camera’s screen.

Optimized Aperture Control for Specific Lenses
Lastly, the firmware update optimizes aperture control parameters for certain compatible interchangeable lenses. This optimization is aimed at improving exposure tracking during zoom operations.
