FUJINON Unveils New Duvo HZK14-100mm PL Mount Zoom Lens

FUJINON has expanded its line of portable lenses with the announcement of the Duvo HZK14-100mm Portable PL Mount Zoom, becoming the second addition to its Duvo Series.

This announcement places the new lens alongside the existing HZK 24-300mm and the HZK25-1000mm F2.8-F5.0 PL Mount Cinema Box Lens within the series.

Enhanced Features and Specifications

Revealed first at IBC 2023, the Duvo 14-100mm is recognized for its significant enhancements over the Fujinon ZK14-35mm T2.9 Cabrio, notably including an extensive focal range and a lighter build. This lens provides a 7.1x zoom capability, covering a focal range of 14-100mm, with an added ability to extend this range up to 21-150mm through a built-in 1.5x expander. While the aperture varies from T2.9 to T3.9 across the zoom range, the variance is minimal. Its closest focusing distance stands at 28cm / 11.02″.

Measuring 10.5″ / 26.7cm in length and weighing 5.8lb / 2.65kg, the lens is designed for ease of use in handheld or Steadicam setups.

Versatility Across Sensor Sizes

The Dual Format construction of the 14-100mm lens enables compatibility with both S35 and full-frame sensors, the latter being accessible through the use of a 1.6x extender. Its optical performance is optimized for low-light conditions and is suitable for a variety of productions, including concerts and events that require cinematic quality.

Coverage and Pricing

The combination of the two DUVO lenses, as per FUJINON, offers a comprehensive coverage ranging from 14-450mm, addressing a wide array of shooting requirements. While the price for the Duvo HZK14-100mm has not been disclosed, expectations suggest a retail figure around $30,000 USD.
