GatesAir, a subsidiary of Thomson Broadcast focused on wireless content delivery, is set to introduce new solutions in two of its product lines at IBC2024.

These innovations reflect the evolving needs of RF infrastructure and include a new model in the IMTX Intra-Mast series and two additions to the Flexiva GX FM transmitter line.

Expansion of the IMTX Intra-Mast Series

GatesAir will unveil the latest addition to its IMTX Intra-Mast series at the IBC2024 show. The new IMTX 2+0 model consolidates two UHF transmission modules into a compact chassis, offering flexibility as low-power transmitters, transposers, or gap fillers. This system is designed for challenging television coverage areas, especially in urban settings with dense populations or underserved rural communities.

The IMTX 2+0 features a compact design (13.35” x 6.7” x 12.58”), making it suitable for installation in various locations, including hollow mast structures and traditional tower systems. It offers reliable performance with features such as vertical air convection flow and fan cooling, alongside various input options like DVB-S/S2, GbE (TS over IP), and SMPTE-310M.

For redundancy, the IMTX 2+0 includes an N+1 architecture that ensures automatic failover protection between a main and backup chassis. Initially focused on UHF channels, the system will eventually support VHF and DAB radio as market needs evolve.

Enhancements to the Flexiva GX FM Transmitter Line

GatesAir will also showcase two new models in its Flexiva GX FM transmitter family at IBC2024. The GX2K (2 kW) will make its debut, while the GX3K (3 kW), previously announced at IBC2023, will begin shipping in time for the event. These models expand GatesAir’s low-power FM transmitter offerings, which now range from 50 W to 3 kW.

The Flexiva GX line is known for its compact design and high efficiency, with the new GX2K model featuring efficiency ratings up to 76%. This series supports large national or regional FM single-frequency network (SFN) deployments and N+1 configurations through GatesAir’s MultiSystem Controller (MSC) technology.

GatesAir has also upgraded the graphical user interface (GUI) for all Flexiva GX models, incorporating new features like integrated audio playback and playlist management. The transmitters offer options such as GPS receivers for SFN support and the Intraplex IP Link 100e (IPL-100e) module for direct IP connectivity, further enhancing the efficiency of FM audio and data transmission.

These new products highlight GatesAir’s commitment to providing high-efficiency, low-power solutions for both TV and radio broadcasters, ensuring reliable, long-term performance.
