Glensound Showcases New Products at NAB 2024

Glensound has recently unveiled several new and enhanced products at the NAB 2024, demonstrating its commitment to innovation influenced by customer insights.

The company’s focus on Audio over IP (AoIP) technology caters to the evolving needs of the broadcast and audio/visual markets, highlighting its expansive range of networked solutions.

Launch of AoIP22M

Among the new offerings is the AoIP22M, a compact, portable unit designed to facilitate seamless integration into Dante/AES67 networks. Building on the success of the AoIP22, the AoIP22M introduces switchable inputs from line to microphone level, accommodating a broader range of audio sources. It features dual analogue inputs and outputs, switchable mic/line inputs via XLR or Phoenix connectors, and supports independent 48V phantom power and adjustable input gains. The device offers flexible power options, including USB-C and Power over Ethernet (PoE), and network connectivity is provided through a robust EtherCON Halo connector.

Introduction of DARK DAWN 1616M

Glensound also announced the DARK DAWN 1616M, a new iteration in the DARK Dante/AES67 interface series, tailored for studio environments where aesthetic appeal is crucial without compromising on durability. This 16-channel interface allows for mic, line, and 48V input settings, with gain adjustments possible both on the device and remotely. The DARK DAWN 1616M supports Dante or RAVENNA/AES67 networking, features a comprehensive front panel with individual channel meters, and includes a headphone socket for monitoring. It is powered by twin multimode AC supplies and is designed for 1U rack mounting with a sleek, screwless aluminum front panel.

DARK8MAIP Debuts at ISE 2024

At the ISE 2024, Glensound introduced the DARK8MAIP, an update to the DARK8MAI microphone amplifier, now offering Phoenix connectors as an alternative to XLRs. This adaptation caters to fixed installations, providing flexibility alongside the unit’s portable design and remote control capabilities via the GlenController. The DARK8MAIP includes redundant PoE, local 12-volt power options, twin EtherCON, and SFP slots for network connectivity.

Vittoria 64 Expands Channel Capacity

The Vittoria 64, another highlight at Glensound’s NAB booth, extends the channel capacity of the previously launched Vittoria model. Responding to customer demand for higher channel counts, the Vittoria 64 offers a 64×64 network audio bridge at 96kHz, with support for sample rates up to 192kHz. It features isolated dual network interfaces for enhanced security, primary and redundant connections, and twin multimode AC power supplies, all within a 1U form factor.

Glensound’s Commitment to Quality and Responsiveness

Marc Wilson, Glensound’s Managing Director, emphasized the company’s pride in its reputation for durable and reliable products. He highlighted the importance of responding to customer feedback and the rapid evolution of AoIP technology as critical to Glensound’s ongoing success. Visitors to the NAB Show can explore Glensound’s latest innovations at booth C7912.
