Glensound: European Parliamentary Broadcast System at IBC2024

Glensound, a leader in high-quality audio systems, will present several new products at IBC2024, including the European Parliamentary Broadcast System.

Known for providing high-reliability solutions for critical large chamber meetings and committee rooms, Glensound has been a trusted partner to national parliaments since 1995. The recent installation at the Scottish Parliament showcases the system’s advanced capabilities, utilizing networked audio as standard practice.

This system addresses challenging acoustics in historic buildings, enhancing debate intelligibility by synchronizing audio and video and integrating security and log-in functionalities. Custom panels at each desk manage audio, voting, and parliamentary procedures. Squared Paper provides software control, with previous collaborations on parliamentary chamber systems. Panels can be customized for bespoke furniture, with pods adjusted for delay and intelligibility. The central rack handles audio feeds and redundant network switching. The central DSP lowers audio pitch and equalizes to reduce feedback and optimize speech clarity. This comprehensive solution incorporates up to 20 specialist hardware products, demonstrating its capability to meet diverse parliamentary broadcasting needs.

Launch of the Greater Divine Intelligent Network Audio Monitor

Glensound will also introduce the Greater Divine Intelligent Network Audio Monitor at IBC2024. Building on the popularity of the Divine launched in 2019, the Greater Divine is a larger two-way speaker unit with several innovations. This versatile self-powered monitor delivers 30 watts, powered by PoE+, with audio connected to a Dante network. It also includes a local DC input and an analogue audio input, alongside 8 customizable Dante input channels. A headphone socket and integral carrying handle enhance its practicality. The enclosure is robust and free-standing, with various mounting options. Setup and features are accessed remotely via the GlenController app.

Marc Wilson, Glensound’s Managing Director, emphasized the company’s dual focus: “Many people think that Glensound manufactures a plethora of handy hardware boxes. We do, but it is important to recognize that we also provide very complex systems, and we are very proud to deliver something that can solve a myriad of problems but remain easy to operate. A perfect example of that is the European Parliamentary Broadcast System.
