Grass Valley Showcases Framelight X at IBC2023

Leading live production solutions provider, Grass Valley, unveiled the latest features of its asset management tool, Framelight X, at IBC2023 in Amsterdam. Framelight X, built on the Agile Media Processing Platform (AMPP), is a highlight among the diverse range of products Grass Valley will present.

Enhanced Features for News and Sports Production

Damon Hawkins, Director of Production for Grass Valley, stated, “Adding an AMPP native MOS Clip List Player allows AMPP players, connected to Framelight X, to be driven by an NRCS rundown, for newsroom and live event production playout. This MOS compatible playout application is crucial in establishing Framelight X as a frontrunner in globally distributed, quick production workflows for both News and Sports. This is part of our dedication to consistently upgrade our cloud-based AMPP products, like Framelight X, enabling users to produce from any location and distribute globally.”

Seamless Media Ingestion with Mync Integration

Grass Valley has also integrated its Mync universal media player/organizer into Framelight X as an RMI tool for media ingestion. This feature facilitates users to ingest diverse digital video formats and edit them using various platforms, including the Framelight X HTML5 Editor.

Enhanced Editing Capabilities

Furthermore, the Framelight X Editor now supports HTML5 graphics, allowing editors to design and adjust graphics directly on the timeline. The upcoming feature will enable editing of closed captions within the editor.

Seamless Transition to Cloud Services

The AMPP ecosystem’s primary advantage is its adaptability. Current GV Stratus and sQ customers can integrate with AMPP and Framelight X, transitioning to cloud services at their convenience and instantly benefiting from Framelight X.

Streamlining Media Management Workflows

Framelight X empowers media companies to streamline and automate media management workflows. With Grass Valley’s AMPP framework, users worldwide can collaborate in real-time, ensuring all changes are instantly visible to everyone, keeping teams synchronized.
