Grass Valley Adds to PHABRIX Arsenal

Grass Valley Boosts Its PHABRIX Equipment Arsenal with a New Addition

PHABRIX, a pioneer in test and measurement solutions, recently announced a significant extension to its partnership with Grass Valley.

The latter, a key player in the live media and entertainment technology sector, has enhanced its collection of PHABRIX equipment by acquiring the QxP Portable Waveform Monitor. This addition complements Grass Valley’s comprehensive inventory, which already includes Qx and QxL rasterizers and Sx handheld instruments, employed across its worldwide research and development, manufacturing, and testing departments.

The QxP: A Versatile Tool for Diverse Media Environments

Grass Valley’s decision to purchase the QxP Portable Waveform Monitor aims to support its intensive research and development activities across various media environments. The QxP is designed for testing production switchers that handle both IP and SDI outputs, boasting features such as a 3U multitouch LCD screen, battery plate options for V-Mount or G-Mount, an integrated mains power supply unit, and a 12V external DC input. With capabilities for 12G SDI and 25G IP ST 2110 compliance monitoring in a portable package, the QxP is adept for use in SDI, IP, and hybrid engineering and production settings.

Grass Valley’s Commitment to High-Quality Broadcast Solutions

Dustin Mooers, IP Media Lab Manager at Grass Valley, highlighted the company’s ongoing support for the broadcast industry through its R&D efforts. He pointed out that the choice of the PHABRIX QxP aligns with Grass Valley’s needs for advanced engineering testing equipment. Martin Mulligan, CEO of PHABRIX, expressed pride in Grass Valley’s long-term partnership and reliance on PHABRIX’s test and measurement products. He emphasized the QxP’s role in enabling Grass Valley to meet the demands of high-quality production equipment capable of handling both SDI and IP formats, catering to a wide range of production environments, including those transitioning between legacy and modern production technologies.
