Exclusive Interview with Gustavo Robles, Sales Director at AEQ, at Cabsat 2024.

TKT1957: Could you introduce yourself and tell us about AEQ’s presence at Cabsat 2024?

Gustavo Robles: We are here at Cabsat 2024 in Dubai, celebrating the show’s 30th anniversary. AEQ has been participating in Cabsat for the past 20 years, and we are thrilled to be here once again to connect with our Middle Eastern and African customers.

TKT1957: What products and solutions is AEQ presenting at the exhibition this year?

Gustavo Robles: This year, at booth PD29, we have brought our complete range of audio solutions for radio and television. Our offerings include audio mixers for radio, such as the large-format Arena, the medium-sized Forum, and the compact Capitol.

We are also showcasing our communication systems, featuring the Phoenix family and our latest innovation, Solaris. Solaris is the largest multiple audiocodec for full-duplex IP networks, supporting up to 64 connections.

In addition, we have our intercom solutions, including the large Conexia, the medium-sized CrossNET, and the compact Xplorer. For the first time at Cabsat, we are introducing our new TP9000 Series of intercom panels, which include a rack-mounted panel with an extension, as well as a tabletop panel.

TKT1957: What are your thoughts on the future trends in our industry?

Gustavo Robles: Looking back, the major transition a few years ago was from analog to digital. Recently, the focus has shifted to IP, with many broadcasters adopting IP-based solutions. Today, the trend is towards more IP integration and computing applications in broadcasting.

We see a significant move towards cloud-based and virtualized services, such as cloud mixers and cloud communications, which offer efficiency and flexibility for broadcasters. Additionally, the new paradigm in our industry is the integration of artificial intelligence. AI is enhancing traditional workflows by improving content classification, content search, and routine tasks, making them more efficient. I believe the future of our industry lies in leveraging cloud technology and artificial intelligence.
