Haivision and Grabyo Announce Partnership for Low-Latency Cloud Broadcasting

Haivision and Grabyo have joined forces to offer a groundbreaking integrated solution, revolutionizing live, multi-camera cloud production with ultra-low latency, enhancing remote collaboration and broadcast quality.

A new collaborative effort between Haivision and Grabyo introduces an integrated service for broadcast professionals, aiming to revolutionize live, multi-camera cloud production with significantly reduced delays. Utilizing Haivision’s cutting-edge video contribution technology, this service ensures the delivery of high-quality, ultra-low latency video straight into Grabyo’s cloud-based production platform.

This innovative solution merges Grabyo’s cloud platform capabilities with Haivision’s Makito X4 video encoders, as well as its Pro and Air mobile video transmitters. The result is a system that provides almost instantaneous video streaming across both public and private networks. This setup is ideal for real-time, remote collaboration among production teams and field operators.

Key features of this integration include the ability to synchronize video frames accurately, switch camera views seamlessly, offer instant replay, insert SCTE-35 advertisements, and mix multi-track audio. The high-quality SRT output maintains fidelity, and the cloud-native nature of the platform means teams can work together effectively from various locations.

The system also allows for integration into traditional studio settings. This is done through Makito X4 video decoders that enable the display of low latency SRT streams from the Grabyo cloud platform on SDI-based production monitors.

Gareth Capon, CEO of Grabyo, emphasized that this partnership aims to revolutionize live production for media entities globally, backed by strong technical support and expertise. Peter Maag, Haivision’s Chief Strategy Officer and EVP of Strategic Partnerships, highlighted the importance of seamless integration between on-site equipment and cloud-based production, asserting that their collaboration with Grabyo achieves this balance, offering both high performance and low latency for various network types.

This broadcasting solution will be showcased at the SATIS 2023 conference in Paris, taking place from November 15-16, where Haivision will have its exhibition at stand C47.
