Persidera, a prominent Italian media service provider, has integrated Harmonic’s XOS Advanced Media Processor into its video delivery infrastructure.
This deployment aims to improve video quality and optimize compression using AI-driven technology. The XOS processor allows Persidera to deliver high-quality video at minimal bitrates, meeting the needs of its customers efficiently.
Focus on IP-Based DVB Solutions
Guido Fermetti, COO of Persidera, highlighted the importance of working with a technology provider offering flexible and future-proof solutions. Persidera specifically sought a partner capable of supporting IP-based DVB solutions with SFN and T2 adaptation. Harmonic’s XOS processor, which supports both SDI and full IP, was chosen to simplify workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
Streamlined Video Delivery from New Broadcast Center
Persidera’s new broadcast center, featuring a hybrid SDI and baseband-over-IP infrastructure, will utilize the XOS Advanced Media Processor to streamline video delivery. The processor’s AI-powered video compression and quality optimization capabilities improve the video experience. Additionally, the XOS processor supports the deployment of value-added technologies like HDR and offers flexible support for various transport architectures.
Strategic Collaboration for Market Leadership
According to Stephane Cloirec, Vice President of Video Appliance and Software Product Management at Harmonic, the collaboration with Persidera strengthens their position in the European market.
