Established in Switzerland in 2009, HEDBOX has since relocated its headquarters to Slovenia and shifted production to China, while maintaining its research and development sector in Switzerland. They have a reputation for producing high-quality battery plates and various types of batteries, including DV, V-Mount, and Gold Mount, which are known for their reliability and the company’s excellent customer service.
About the NINA Series
The NINA Series is divided into two models based on capacity: the NINA M with a 99.2Wh capacity and the NINA L with a 148.8Wh capacity. These models are available in both V-Mount and Gold Mount versions. HEDBOX states that these batteries are equipped with Samsung and LG li-ion inner cells (18650), which are renowned for their lack of memory effect.
Specifications of the Batteries
The NINA M has dimensions of 105 x 75 x 52mm and weighs 511g, while the NINA L measures 105 x 75 x 68mm and weighs 650g. Each battery features two D-Tap output ports, located on opposite sides, and both USB-A and USB-C ports atop the battery.
Charging Options and Display Features
These batteries can be charged using standard V-Mount or Gold Mount chargers, as well as via USB-C, which adds convenience. Each battery includes a USB-C PD cable equipped with an integrated display. The front of the batteries has an OLED display that shows remaining time, battery percentage, cycle count, and charging status.
Innovative IDR Emergency Alarm System
A notable feature is the IDR emergency alarm system. This patent-pending system activates when the battery capacity falls below 20%, triggering a flashing IDR Ring in silent mode to alert the user. This low-capacity smart alarm allows users to easily monitor battery status without constant checking, which is particularly useful for solo operators. Additionally, the IDR Ring and display can indicate excessive power drain or abnormal temperature levels.
