Leading Spanish entertainment executive, Hugo Tomás, has been appointed Executive Producer of Non-Scripted Programmes at ITV Studios Iberia.
He will assume his new role on September 1, reporting directly to Nathalie Garcia, CEO of ITV Studios Iberia.
Role and Responsibilities
In his new position, Hugo will be responsible for adapting ITV Studios’ internationally acclaimed reality, factual, dating, and game show formats, including popular shows like “Come Dine With Me,” “Love Island,” and “The Chase.” Additionally, he will work on developing original local content in close collaboration with Miguel Vila, the Creative Director.
Professional Background
Hugo joins ITV Studios Iberia from MediaCrest, where he served as Head of Entertainment for four years. During his tenure, he oversaw productions such as ITV Studios’ “The Chase” and “Beat The Chasers” for TVE, “Mapi” for TVE, and “The Floor” for Antena 3. With a career in entertainment spanning 25 years, Hugo brings extensive experience in format adaptation, production, and international collaboration. He has significantly contributed to the success of major international franchises in Spain, including “MasterChef,” “Temptation Island,” “The Great British Sewing Bee,” and “Secret Millionaire,” while also developing local intellectual property.

Before his tenure at MediaCrest, which began in January 2020 as Head of Factual, Reality, and New Formats, Hugo was promoted to Head of Television in May 2020. He directed “Temptation Island” for Telecinco and Cuatro. Hugo also worked for Shine Iberia for four years, directing four seasons of “MasterChef” and “Junior MasterChef,” “Masters of Sewing” (based on “The Great British Sewing Bee”), and “One, Two, Chef!” for Disney+.
