This deployment is aimed at facilitating a seamless transition from SDI to SMPTE ST 2110 IP, ensuring consistent IP gateway functionality through the SNP platform.
Deployment of SNP-XL at Major Events
In 2024, Creative Technology introduced the SNP-XL variant, testing it at significant international sports events, including global golf tournaments and the Paris Games. The SNP-XL was integrated into Creative Technology’s production workflow, providing critical support for these high-profile events.
Integration with Panasonic KAIROS
The SNP platform integrates effectively with Creative Technology’s preferred vision mixing platform, Panasonic KAIROS. This integration offers a high-density SDI on- and off-ramp for the native-IP live video production platform. As Creative Technology’s needs evolve, the SNP can be reconfigured for various functionalities, including multiviewer and JPEG XS conversion, by loading the relevant software.

The compact form factor of the SNP enables easy integration into flypacks, supporting up to 64 bidirectional SDI/2110 flows in a 2RU space with the SNP-XL. This scalability reduces the need for additional equipment, space, and transportation resources.

The SNP platform’s use of 100G QSFP connectors allows direct connection to the KAIROS mixer, simplifying operations for technicians with less IP engineering experience. This eliminates the need for network switches, control platforms, or a grandmaster clock, as these functions are managed natively by the SNP.
