Insta360 has unveiled a significant firmware update for its Ace Pro AI action camera, packed with innovative features and notable enhancements aimed at enriching the user experience.
The firmware, labeled v1.0.352024 and released on January 24, brings a suite of updates designed to expand the camera’s versatility and performance.
Enhanced Connectivity and Audio Integration
The update now enables the camera to connect with a range of motorcycle helmet headsets, including the VIMOTO V9S. Detailed compatibility can be found on the Insta360 website under the Ace Pro/Ace specifications. This integration facilitates the inclusion of audio captured via the helmet headsets directly into video recordings, extends voice control functionalities, and introduces various other benefits for content creators.
Improved Video and Photo Features
A significant addition is the Active HDR toggle feature, giving users the flexibility to enable or disable Active HDR as needed. Both FreeFrame and Loop Recording modes have been updated to support Active HDR, incorporating the new toggle functionality. Moreover, the firmware introduces Clarity Zoom for photo modes, accessible through a double-tap on the screen, and relocates the sharpness setting to the 3A page, allowing for mode-specific sharpness adjustments.
Webcam Mode Enhancements and GPS Compatibility
The update enhances the Webcam Mode by introducing facial detection with zooming capabilities, improving the quality of video calls and streaming. It also extends compatibility to the Insta360 GPS Action Remote, further broadening the camera’s utility.
General Improvements
Users will notice an enhanced experience in both photo and video shooting modes, thanks to the firmware’s focus on user interface and performance improvements. Additionally, the update brings better camera stability and an overall improvement in the user experience, ensuring smoother operation and higher quality output.
