Insta360 has introduced the GO 3S, a thumb-sized camera that maintains the GO 3’s compact form factor while incorporating significant upgrades, including the capability to shoot in 4K.

The GO 3S features several enhancements over its predecessor:
- 4K Video Recording: The camera can now capture 4K video at up to 30 frames per second, offering sharper and clearer videos thanks to an upgraded chip with 50% more CPU power and a new wide-angle lens.
- Interval Video Mode: This new mode allows for fully automatic hands-free shooting, with the ability to set shooting intervals and clip lengths.
- Apple Find My Compatibility: The camera can be located using the Apple Find My network if it gets lost.
- Waterproofing: The GO 3S is natively waterproof up to 33 feet, an improvement from the GO 3’s 16 feet.
- Enhanced Accessories: The camera comes with improved accessories for better functionality and user experience.
Advanced Shooting and AI Editing
The GO 3S supports:
- 4K & Image Quality Enhancements: Includes a new MegaView FOV for less distortion and cleaner edges, Dolby Vision-ready HDR for greater dynamic range, and slow-motion capabilities up to 200fps at 1080p or 100fps at 2.7K.
- Automatic Shooting & AI Editing: The Interval Video mode automates shooting, while the Insta360 app’s Auto Edit function uses AI to combine clips into one video synced to music. The Instant App Preview (iOS only) sends a notification to your phone after shooting.
Hands-Free POV and Mounting Options
The GO 3S’s lightweight, magnetic body (weighing 39g / 1.4oz) enables hands-free POV shooting. It can be worn on clothing or mounted on various surfaces, such as helmets or handlebars, using the Action Pod or other accessories. The Action Pod, unchanged from the GO 3, serves as a housing, remote control, and charger, with a 2.2″ flip touchscreen for previewing shots.

The Insta360 GO 3S is available for order worldwide from June 13, 2024, starting at $399.99 USD. The Standard Bundle includes the camera, Action Pod, Magnet Pendant, Easy Clip, Pivot Stand, and Lens Guard, with 64GB and 128GB models priced at $399.99 USD and $429.99 USD, respectively. It comes in Arctic White and Midnight Black colors. For GO 3 users, the GO 3S can be purchased as a standalone camera for $239.99 USD (64GB) or $269.99 USD (128GB).
