Introduction to ZGCINE X Series V-Mount Batteries

ZGCINE, a Chinese manufacturer known for its battery solutions, recently launched the X series of V-mount batteries.

These batteries are specifically designed to cater to the needs of content creators, offering three distinct models: the ZG-X50, ZG-X99, and ZG-X160. Each model comes with different capacity levels, namely 52Wh, 99Wh, and 156Wh, respectively, all operating at 14.8V. These models are priced at $149, $219, and $279. Besides V-mount batteries, ZGCINE also offers other power solutions like the compact ZG-H90 battery grip for LED lights, battery plates, and charging cases.

Detailed Overview of the X Series Batteries

The X series batteries come in three capacities: the ZG-X50 with a 52Wh capacity and 3,500mAh, the ZG-X99 with 99Wh and 7,000mAh, and the ZG-X160 with 156Wh and 10,500mAh. They feature advancements over the previous generation, including a larger status display and enhanced USB-C port capabilities.

Innovations and Features

The new series boasts several improvements, including:

  • A 1.3-inch IPS display showing extensive information such as current, voltage, total power, remaining time, and temperature.
  • Enhanced USB-C PD output, with the ZG-X99 and ZG-X160 models supporting up to 100W (20V/5A), a significant increase from the previous maximum of 65W.
  • Increased maximum current output on D-Tap and BP outputs to 15A.

Furthermore, these batteries are equipped with real-time detection capabilities for efficient power delivery and support fast charging via USB-C—1.5 hours for the ZG-X99 and 2.5 hours for the ZG-X160. The ZG-X50 can also be charged in about 1.5 hours through its 45W USB-C port. Notably, the two USB-C ports offer independent PD outputs, ensuring no reduction in speed when both are in use. The design includes a non-slip surface and a protective glass panel over the display.

Input/Output Specifications

The input and output specifications vary by model:

  • For the ZG-X50, USB-C 1 PD supports multiple output modes ranging from 5V/2A to 20V/2.25A. The same output specifications apply to USB-C 2 PD OUT.
  • The ZG-X99 and ZG-X160 models offer enhanced USB-C 1 PD IN/OUT capabilities, supporting up to 20V/5A, with USB-C 2 PD OUT also providing multiple output options including a 20V/3.25A mode.
  • All models feature a D-Tap/BP input at 16.8V/3A and a D-Tap/BP output at 14.8V/15A, along with DC outputs at 8.4V/3A and 12V/3A.

These advancements make the ZGCINE X series V-mount batteries a versatile and powerful solution for content creators requiring reliable power sources for their equipment.
