The IP Showcase will be making its return at the 2024 NAB Show, scheduled for April 14-17 at the Las Vegas Convention Centre.
The event is organized by the Alliance for IP Media Solutions (AIMS), Advanced Media Workflow Association (AMWA), and the Video Services Forum (VSF), with contributions from the Audio Engineering Society (AES), European Broadcasting Union (EBU), and SMPTE.
Exhibition Highlights
The showcase aims to demonstrate the advancements in transitioning to an all-IP ecosystem for media production, provide educational content on various IP-related subjects, and offer networking opportunities in its meetup area. It will serve as a resource for professionals ranging from newcomers to seasoned experts in the media-over-IP field.
Educational Features
The IP Showcase Theatre will again be a central feature, offering 38 sessions over the course of the show. These 20-minute sessions will cover topics such as IPMX, RIST, NMOS, audio-over-IP, orchestration, automation in the cloud, and more. Examples of sessions include a plain language summary of the IPMX technical recommendations, discussions on the use of IPMX and RIST for secure live content streaming, and explorations of the current and future applications of NMOS.
Networking Opportunities
The meetup section, introduced in the previous year, will return, providing a space where attendees can initiate discussions on any AV-over-IP related topic. This area allows for flexible seating arrangements and is open to any attendee interested in hosting a discussion.
Event Significance
According to Andrew Starks, a member of the AIMS board of directors and director of product management for Macnica, the IP Showcase has consistently offered a valuable platform for learning and collaboration, driving innovation through open standards. This year’s event continues to support the growth and evolution of industry standards, aiming to enhance the knowledge and skills of all attendees.
