SmallRig unveiled their Mobile Video Cage for the iPhone 15 Pro Max at Japan’s Inter BEE 2023 event

This product is a new addition to SmallRig’s lineup, catering specifically to iPhone 15 Pro Max users, enhancing their smartphone filming capabilities.

SmallRig recently showcased their latest innovation, the Mobile Video Cage, tailored for the iPhone 15 Pro Max, at the Inter BEE 2023 in Japan. This cage, crafted from aluminum alloy, is compatible with MagSafe for wireless charging and offers numerous mounting possibilities for accessories.

Key features of this cage include:

  • Compatibility with the iPhone 15 Pro Max
  • Several mounts for cold shoe accessories
  • Numerous threaded holes (1/4″ -20)
  • A hand strap hole
  • Ability to use M-Mount lenses
  • A replaceable lens backplate
  • Full access to all buttons and ports
  • Protective built-in pads
  • Support for both horizontal and vertical shooting

The cage boasts ten 1/4”-20 threaded holes and dual cold shoe mounts. Its one-piece, compact design ensures swift setup and features SmallRig’s “One-Click” locking system. The design, which includes cut-outs, allows unimpeded access to the phone’s buttons.

Furthermore, SmallRig’s Quick Release Ecosystem facilitates tool-free installation, enabling easy attachment or removal of convertible side-to-top handles. The cage body also includes three locating holes.

One of the handles features a Bluetooth button for starting/stopping recording. The cage supports the optional use of a Universal SSD Mounting bracket for attaching external drives. SmallRig is exploring additional mounting options for SSDs, considering the use of MagSafe batteries on the phone’s back.

Besides accommodating the three lenses of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, the cage also allows for the attachment of M-Mount lenses (17mm/37mm threaded lenses and T-series lenses with optional backplates) and magnetic filters like VND, CPL, Star Cross, and ¼ Black Mist.
