JVC Professional Video has unveiled the third version of its firmware for the KY-PZ510 and KY-PZ510N CONNECTED CAM PTZ Cameras. This free update introduces five distinct auto tracking settings: Standard, Area, Stage, Wide Area, and Fine Adjustment.
These new options enhance the camera’s ability to track a specific individual within its view, such as a teacher or religious leader, according to Joseph D’Amico, Vice President of JVC Professional Video.
Enhanced Preset Functions
In addition to the tracking enhancements, the firmware also allows users to set presets for various parameters like exposure, color, and image. This functionality is now available on all JVC PTZ cameras that support NDI technology.
Detailed Tracking Features
The Standard setting allows users to define the tracking system’s position, headroom, and subject framing (upper body or above the chest). The Area setting enables the camera to remain fixed in a specific area unless the speaker leaves that zone. The Stage and Wide Area settings determine the camera’s panning borders and central focus, respectively. Finally, the Fine Adjustment mode lets the camera reframe the subject to a preset position within six seconds.
Compatibility with Remote Camera Controller and Web Interface
JVC has also updated the firmware for the JVC RM-LP100 Remote Camera Controller and its web interface. These updates allow for auto-tracking commands to be sent via WEB API. The controller also facilitates individual selection and tracking toggling while in auto tracking mode.
Advanced Camera Features
The KY-PZ510 Series boasts an 80-degree wide horizontal view and a 21.8 to 261.8 millimeter focal length. It includes Vertical Interval Time Code (VITC) with Network Time Protocol (NTP) for synchronized multi-camera setups. Utilizing HEVC technology, the cameras deliver high-quality video at reduced bitrates, suitable for remote production. The KY-PZ510N supports simultaneous output in NDI, SRT, and RTMPS formats, ideal for diverse local/remote workflows.
Availability Across NDI-Enabled JVC PTZ Cameras
The new preset features for exposure, color, image, and PTZ settings introduced in this update are also available on all NDI-enabled JVC PTZ cameras, including the KY-PZ400N and KY-PZ200 Series, which have been updated to NDI Version 5.
