Kinefinity Releases Firmware Update KineOS 7.2

The Kinefinity KineOS 7.2 firmware update ushers in a range of exciting enhancements, revolutionizing the filmmaking experience.

The latest update extends the pre-recording duration to a generous 30 seconds, supporting full-resolution and full-frame rate pre-roll. This feature proves invaluable for capturing those unpredictable and critical moments, particularly in scenarios like wildlife filming or event coverage.

Transition to exFAT File System: Kinefinity takes a significant step forward by adopting the exFAT file system. Beyond ensuring seamless cross-platform compatibility, this transition is expected to deliver a remarkable 30% boost in write speeds, substantially streamlining workflow efficiency.

Active E Mount Support:
Filmmakers can now benefit from comprehensive control over iris, focus, and servo zoom with Active E Mount Adaptation. In line with the Cooke/i protocol for cinema lenses, the Active E-mount instantly displays iris, focal length, and precise focus, preserving this crucial information in the footage. This enhancement simplifies on-set playback and post-production, providing valuable lens data.

Additional Optimizations:
The firmware update also introduces several subtle yet highly practical optimizations, including a 25% improvement in system startup speed. Users gain the ability to delete the last recorded clip, enjoy enhanced zoom focus indicator functionality with movement in four directions, access SDI external timecode display support, and experience improved stability when recording at high frame rates and resolutions.

LUT Naming Revisions:
The naming conventions for Look-Up Table (LUT) files have been updated, offering improved management and application of LUTs during post-production.

e-ND Filter Convenience:
The electronic ND (e-ND) filter now retains previous settings when reactivated, simplifying adjustments during shoots.

In terms of bug fixes, the update addresses various issues, including problems with parameter display on the side screen, enabling adjustments for certain parameters in the app, incorrect system language display in the indicator box, inaccurate SDI output color, and incorrect default parameters after restoring factory settings.
