- What do you regard as the Kazakhstan film market main trends in 2022?
Our company AVSHOP LLP mainly specializes in activities in the film industry. In 2022 in Kazakhstan, in our market segment, there was a clear trend of switching to wireless video data transmission on set. Our customers started buying transmitters, “trusting them”, so to speak.
The film companies’ camera choice preferences have also changed. They have stopped turning a blind eye to Blackmagic Design products, most likely due to the decrease in funding and in the number of projects, caused by international affairs. Pathos statements like “We shoot on ARRI or RED only” are no longer relevant in Kazakhstan. There were really too few projects.
Well, another reason for that is a significant Blackmagic Design quality improvement, which can’t be denied. Compared to the previous products, now Blackmagic Design cameras are much more appropriate for filmmaking. Of course, it is still far from ARRI or RED, but it provides good results and a “juicy” image at a moderate price. BMD cameras are used in many Russian and foreign YouTube shows.
Blackmagic’s ATEM production switchers and streaming solutions seemed to dominate the online and offline event production for most part of the year. Also, in 2022 new Canon, Sony and Fuji cameras had been released, but these devices were not so popular.
