Lawo Showcases IP-Based Media Production Solutions at MPTS London

At the Media Production and Technology Show (MPTS) in London, booth M30, Lawo will introduce its innovative IP-based solutions designed for the media production industry.

The company’s HOME Apps represent a significant shift in broadcast and media functionality by separating it from the underlying hardware. These apps are developed with Lawo’s high-quality processing and are packaged in containerized software that can be easily activated or deactivated through an intuitive user interface. The settings are preserved for future use, and app usage is supported by permanent licenses for continuous access.

Launch of HOME mc² DSP App

Lawo has expanded its HOME Apps suite with the introduction of the HOME mc² DSP app. This new application is a server-based audio engine that delivers ultra-low-latency and high flexibility for connectivity and scalability. It integrates seamlessly with Lawo’s mc² mixing consoles or can be used to set up a virtual mixing system on-demand. The HOME mc² DSP app is ideal for video/audio production environments that require rapid deployment of high-grade audio processing.

Flexibility and Licensing

The HOME mc² DSP app benefits from the flexibility of detaching processing functions from the hardware, utilizing Lawo’s flexible licensing and subscription model. This model allows users to allocate subscription credits to any available HOME App and easily relocate the app from one production site to another, such as from a production hub to an outside broadcasting truck or a remote location.

Features of mc²36 xp Console

Lawo also presents the mc²36 xp audio production console, which is compact yet powerful, supporting up to 256 DSP channels and offering redundancy in IP network and processing. It can operate at both 48kHz and 96kHz and supports immersive audio mixing and all relevant IP standards. The console is designed to work with a single A__UHD core processing unit that can distribute its DSP power to multiple console surfaces, making it a cost-effective solution for premium-class audio processing.

Experience at Broadcast Bionics

Additionally, visitors can explore Lawo’s offerings at the Broadcast Bionics booth (N42), where the diamond radio broadcast console is showcased. This console is designed for both radio and TV applications, adhering to open AES67/RAVENNA Audio-over-IP networking standards. The diamond console supports various audio sources and destinations, is modular, and offers configurations ranging from 2 to 60 physical faders. It features color displays adjacent to each fader and dual fader layers for easy switching between tasks. This console introduces Lawo’s Unified Experience user interface, enhancing user interaction.
