Lectrosonics, a well-known manufacturer of wireless systems for various applications including broadcast, film, music, location sound, houses of worship, live sound, and theatrical use, has announced the release of the Wireless Designer Software V2.1 package for both Mac and PC.
This new version includes several feature additions and a simplified update process for the software itself.
Tuning Groups Update
Recent updates to the Lectrosonics DCR822, DSR, and DSR4 portable digital multi-channel receivers now allow users to create, edit, and share Tuning Groups with named entries. The Wireless Designer V2.1 software enables users to create, import, edit, save, and export these Tuning Groups, significantly speeding up the workflow when adding and updating tuning groups within the Lectrosonics portable receiver ecosystem.
FlexLists Feature
The FlexLists feature, which has been a powerful tool in the Lectrosonics Duet digital IEM system, allows users to create and share lists within and between the M2R and M2Ra receiver packs for monitor or IFB feeds on stage or in a studio. Wireless Designer V2.1 now supports the creation, import, editing, saving, and exporting of these FlexLists, accelerating setup time and reducing the turnaround time for any edits.
Offline Mode Functionality
Both FlexLists and Tuning Groups can be created, edited, and saved in offline mode, allowing users to prepare these lists in advance. Once connected, the lists can be deployed to the system hardware via network or USB and then shared via IR (infrared) or microSD card with body-worn units.
Drag and Drop Feature
In response to user requests for the ability to drag and drop frames (receivers or transmitters) within the session system stack in the tree view, Wireless Designer V2.1 includes this feature. It allows quick and easy re-ordering of the channels within a system and how they are displayed on screen.
Compatibility with RF Spectrum Scanners
Wireless Designer V2.1 also supports importing and exporting scan files in .CSV format, increasing compatibility with RF spectrum scanners and other frequency management software packages.
“These new features available in Wireless Designer V2.1 offer powerful upgrades for the users of Lectrosonics wireless systems,” explains Karl Winkler, EVP of product design and distribution. “We’re excited to continue to expand the usability and utility of this software with the debut of Wireless Designer 2.1, in ways that can help in many different applications including live sound, house of worship, reality TV production, broadcast, and sports coverage, among many others.”
