LensVid and SmallRig Unveil a New Mini L-Shaped Mount Plate Kit

LensVid, in collaboration with SmallRig, a specialist in camera accessories from China, has recently announced the launch of an innovative mini L-shaped mount plate kit designed for camera rigs.

This development comes after more than a year of joint effort aimed at enhancing camera rig setups by allowing accessories to be mounted at a 90-degree angle.

Design and Specifications

The newly released SmallRig x LensVid mini L-shaped mount plate kit is a small, yet powerful accessory, with dimensions of 33.6 x 33.6 x 28mm (1.3 x 1.3 x 1.1 inches) and weighing only 32g (1.1oz). Constructed from aluminum, it boasts a maximum load capacity of 1.2kg (2.6 lbs), making it suitable for attaching a range of camera accessories such as wireless video transmitters and small monitors.

The design of the plate allows for a 20mm (0.8 inches) offset from the mounting point, ensuring that camera rigs remain as compact and streamlined as possible. It features dual 3/8″-16 mounting points equipped with retractable ARRI-standard locating pins. For camera cages lacking locating pins, the plate includes a silicone texture cover on both sides to prevent slippage and ensure stability.

Included Accessories

Within the package, customers will find a selection of mounting accessories including two 3/8″-16 to 1/4″-20 screw adapters, two 1/4″-20 screws, two 3/8″-16 screws, and a flathead screwdriver, providing versatility and ease of installation for various camera rig configurations.

This innovation by LensVid and SmallRig addresses the common challenge of perpendicularly mounting accessories on camera rigs, offering a smart and low-profile solution to videographers and photographers seeking to optimize their setups.
