Lexar Announces 1TB CFexpress 4.0 Type B Diamond and Type A Gold Cards

At CES 2024, Lexar unveiled two innovative 1TB CFexpress 4.0 memory cards: the Type B in the Diamond series and the Type A in the Gold series.

The 1TB CFexpress Type B Diamond card stands out as one of the fastest in its category, boasting read speeds of up to 3,600MB/s and write speeds up to 3,300MB/s.

Update to CFexpress 4.0 Standard
The CFexpress 4.0 standard, updated in August 2023, represents a significant advancement, doubling the data transfer speeds compared to its predecessor. It offers maximum theoretical read and write speeds of up to 4GB/s for Type B cards.

Market Developments in CFexpress 4.0
Recently, several manufacturers, including OWC and Nextorage, have released CFexpress 4.0 Type B memory cards. Despite the lack of cameras currently on the market that fully utilize the CFexpress 4.0 standard, these cards’ backward compatibility with earlier CFexpress versions offers users improved transfer speeds for backing up footage and a way to future-proof their investments.

With over two decades of experience in creating solutions tailored for content creators, Lexar is now embracing the CFexpress 4.0 trend. The company announced their entry with the Lexar CFexpress 4.0 Type B Diamond and CFexpress 4.0 Type A Gold cards.
