Lexar Unveils New SL600 Portable SSDs with Advanced USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Technology

Lexar has expanded its product line with the introduction of the SL600 Portable Solid State Drives (SSDs), available in 1TB and 2TB storage capacities.

These latest iterations mark a significant upgrade from the previous models, transitioning from USB 3.1 to the faster USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 interface.

Enhanced Performance and Compatibility

Designed to cater to the needs of photographers, videographers, and content creators, the SL600 SSDs boast impressive read and write speeds of up to 2000 MB/s. However, users should note that reaching these maximum speeds requires a host device that supports the 20 Gb/s USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 standard. Although devices equipped with Thunderbolt/USB4, including Apple products, offer compatibility, they will experience reduced speeds of up to 10 Gb/s due to the limitation of USB 3.2 Gen 2 support.

Robust Design and Security Features

The drives feature an aluminum enclosure that provides protection against physical damages such as shocks, vibrations, and extreme temperatures. For added security, Lexar has incorporated DataShield technology with 256-bit AES encryption to safeguard sensitive data.

Versatile Use and Easy Connectivity

The SL600 SSDs are versatile, supporting connections with Windows, Mac, and Android devices via a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2×2 interface. This makes them suitable for direct attachment to cameras capable of external recording through USB-C. For convenience and portability, the drives come with an integrated carabiner loop, allowing users to securely attach them to a travel bag. Lexar ensures broad device compatibility by including both USB-C to USB-C and USB-C to USB-A cables with each drive.
