LiveU and Pente Networks: Enhanced Connectivity for Broadcasters at RNC

The Democratic National Convention (DNC) is scheduled for August. In collaboration with Pente Networks, LiveU launched LiveU Private Connectivity at the Fiserv Forum during the RNC. This service provided major news broadcasters with access to private network connectivity, facilitating comprehensive coverage of the event.

Enhanced Connectivity for Broadcasters

Dan Pisarski, LiveU CTO, stated, “Providing a private cellular network solution for major broadcasters at the RNC and DNC enhances connectivity by avoiding public network congestion and the instability of WiFi in convention arenas. This solution also adds network segmentation, prioritization, and greater security, along with additional capacity for remote production technologies and employee communications.”

Part of LiveU’s IP-video EcoSystem, the LiveU Private Connectivity solution, integrates services like Pente Networks, simplifying network security and robust connection deployment for broadcasters. At the core is LiveU Reliable Transport (LRT™), an IP-video transport protocol designed for wireless networks, ensuring reliable performance.

Pisarski added, “The ad hoc private mobile network solution allows quick deployment almost anywhere, providing new creative options for customers as they share stories.”

Pente’s orchestration solution streamlines the provisioning of ad-hoc private mobile networks, managing the complexities required for resilient broadcast-quality connectivity in challenging environments such as densely populated convention arenas. LiveU’s solution employs innovative radio and switching configurations, enabling complete freedom of camera movement and placement within event locations.

History of Supporting High-profile Events

LiveU has a longstanding history of supporting broadcasters in high-profile elections for nearly 18 years. For the RNC, LiveU provided technical support, rentals, and connectivity, ensuring reliable and high-quality coverage. The popularity of LiveU Private Connectivity was evident as it was fully booked within days of its announcement.
