Magewell has unveiled two fresh additions to its Eco Capture series of compact, energy-efficient M.2 video capture cards.
Following the recent launch of the Eco Capture AIO M.2, which offers selectable HDMI and SDI 1080p60 inputs, the company now introduces the Eco Capture HDMI 4K Plus M.2 and Eco Capture 12G SDI 4K Plus M.2. These new models are designed to capture 4K video at a rate of 60 frames per second, utilizing HDMI or SDI interfaces respectively.
The Eco Capture cards by Magewell provide a compact and efficient solution for video capture, boasting low latency and minimal power consumption. They are particularly suited for compact, mobile, or embedded systems where standard PCIe slots are not an option. These cards come equipped with an M.2 connector and have dimensions of just 22x80mm (0.87×3.15in). Notably, these are the first models in the Eco Capture series to utilize a PCIe Gen 3 bus interface, which offers enhanced DMA bandwidth.
Both new models are capable of capturing 4K video up to resolutions of 4096×2160, including the 3840×2160 Ultra HD, at frame rates reaching 60fps. The Eco Capture HDMI 4K Plus M.2 comes with an HDMI 2.0 interface, whereas the Eco Capture 12G SDI 4K Plus M.2 offers flexibility with support for single-link 12G-SDI or quad-link 3G-SDI connectivity. Additionally, they can capture up to eight channels of embedded audio alongside the video.
