Matrox’s KMLync streamlines multi-system management using a singular keyboard and mouse setup.
Today, technology trailblazer Matrox Video unveiled the Matrox KMLync USB keyboard and mouse switch. This innovative tool allows users to seamlessly control multiple systems or interface with Matrox Extio™ 3 IP KVM devices, all from a centralized control room using just one keyboard and mouse.
Features Overview
Available either as a standalone keyboard and mouse switch or as an accessory to the Extio 3 IP KVM lineup, KMLync offers smooth mouse transitions between up to four different input sources. When integrated with Extio 3 IP KVM extenders, KMLync introduces new workflows suitable for expansive multimonitor environments. This setup enables operators to monitor and control multiple sources across a quad 4Kp60 monitor display or even larger configurations with up to sixteen 1080p60 monitors. The synergy of KMLync with Extio 3’s multiview capability and rapid IP switching means operators can access more data and enhance their response times.
Benefits for Users and Facilities
KMLync is designed to enhance operator efficiency, offering smoother transitions and faster access to vital information. Content displayed across multiple monitors feels like a singular, expansive desktop. This not only refines the workflow but also reduces the number of keyboard and mouse sets, leading to a more organized and ergonomic workspace. With its user-friendly setup and maintenance, especially when combined with Extio 3 IP KVM receivers, KMLync allows system integrators to offer scalable multimonitor configurations over a 1GbE network setup.
Diverse Applications
KMLync is a perfect fit for control rooms across the professional AV and broadcast sectors. In the pro AV realm, it’s suitable for applications like 911 control centers, dispatch hubs, energy facilities, military command centers, security rooms, and flight simulation stations. Within broadcasting, it’s ideal for environments such as TV studios, post-production areas, and mobile broadcasting units.
Caroline Injoyan, Business Development Manager at Matrox Video, shared her insights: “KMLync is available for anyone who needs a hardware solution to control multiple systems with one keyboard and mouse set. It’s also a great tool for our KVM system integrators and clients looking to augment the capabilities of Extio 3-powered remote workspaces. KMLync easily binds Extio 3 devices together and enables new workflows to improve situational awareness. Users can work across more screens, monitor more sources, and simply control them with one keyboard and mouse.”
