Interview with Kimberly Brown, Marketing Manager at Matrox Video, and Lukasz Bialowas, Product Manager at Matrox Video, at ISE 2024.

Hi everybody, my name is Kim. I’m here at the Matrox Video booth at ISE 2024. So far, it’s been an amazing show. There’s a lot of people and a lot of excitement happening on the floor, and I’m actually really excited to give you a brief tour of what’s going on at Matrox Video this year.

TKT1957: What new products is your company showcasing at ISE 2024?

Kim: So, first off, we have our ConvertIP Station, which is a really exciting station you’ll want to visit. I’m not sure if you’ve all heard about the big brown ball happening in Las Vegas called The Sphere. Well, our ConvertIP is in that sphere, and we’re really excited to talk about it. Basically, we’re showing two different versions of the demo at ISE for ConvertIP.

The first demo you’re going to see is with the ChyronHego Panasonic, and we are sending a stream to SMPTE ST 2110 uncompressed. The quality is pristine. Then, we’re also showing compressed IPMX signals as well, so consumers have both options, depending on whatever signal distribution you’re looking at; ConvertIP is awesome.

Next up, we have Daisy Chain with ConvertIP as well. With the Daisy Chain feature, it’s a really unique feature for us; nobody else is doing it. But we have the option of connecting to as many screens as you want with the Daisy Chain feature. It’s really about scalability and cost-effectiveness, and really kind of streamlining your workflow and producing any type of video that you’re interested in.

Next up, we have our newest member to our MAVX family right over here, the MAVX 7100. It adds to our family line; it is a single-channel encoder that does H.265. It adds to our MAVX line, like I said, where we have the dual-channel encoder as well as the quad, so whatever your options are, or whatever your workflow looks like, MAVX now officially has you covered.

And then finally, we have our Control Room ES over here, which is being driven by our IP KVM, which just gives you the capability of having complete control and complete visibility of your operating system. So, it gives you more screens and more flexibility for your optimization, if you will.

Kim: We also have our Luma pod over here, which is our newest graphics card for video walls. It’s capable of powering an 8K video wall, boasting up to 8K power flow with the Kodak video wall IP KVM.

Here’s my colleague Lukasz, he’ll tell you more about Luma.

Lukasz: The Luma product is a graphics card based on Intel Graphics, capable of handling up to two 8K signals or four 5K p60 signals. Really, the big sweet spot with this product is its codec capabilities. It’s able to support H.264, H.265, AV1, and VP9 codecs. With it, we are able to essentially drive very large and very dense IP-based video walls.

Kim: Thank you. Awesome. So, stop by our booth at ISE 2024. We’re happy to see you, and if you’re seeing this after ISE, don’t forget to check us out at matrox.com or on social media at Matrox Video. Can’t wait to chat with you guys!
