Grup Mediapro has been appointed as the host broadcaster for this summer’s European Games, taking place in Krakow, Poland.
The company says it plans to deploy more than 750 broadcast professionals, a minimum of 15 HD Outside Broadcast units and a “multitude” of state-of-the-art cameras (Omnicam, Pole Cams, among others) to ensure signal coverage for all the 29 sporting disciplines featured at the event.
Mediapro will also be in charge of setting up, fitting out and managing the International Broadcast Center (IBC) at the Games, which take place from 21st June to 2nd July.
The European Games will see athletes from 48 countries participate in 29 different sports disciplines including athletics, cycling, paddle, tennis, synchronized swimming, and ski jumping.
“The signing of the agreement with Grup Mediapro is another milestone in the organization of the III European Games,” said Marcin Nowak, president of the organizing committee of the 2023 European Games.
“Cooperation with a world leader in the audiovisual sector, with an established position in the world of sports, is an honor for us,” Nowak added. “We are now sure that the summer games will reach all sports fans around the world. While supporting their favorite athletes in front of the TV, they will feel almost like fans gathered in the sports arenas.”

The European Games take place in Krakow, Poland from 21st June to 2nd July.
