Mediaproxy, known for its LogServer compliance monitoring system, is expanding into media data aggregation and orchestration through a growing technical partnership with Skyline Communications, the developer of the DataMiner transformation platform.

Both companies will demonstrate the integration of their systems at IBC 2024 and discuss the benefits for their customers.

Integration and Collaboration

The integration between LogServer and DataMiner started in 2017, focusing on the data collection control panel of the Skyline system using APIs. A more formalized collaboration began about a year and a half ago, with engineering teams from both companies working to improve connectivity between their products. This enhanced integration aims to streamline the process of accessing and using data obtained from both systems.

Features of DataMiner

DataMiner is a versatile platform for data acquisition, control, and orchestration, offering real-time monitoring, analytical capabilities, and AI features like forecasting, anomaly detection, and automatic incident tracking. DataMiner Cloud Services further enhance its functions by providing secure dashboard and data sharing with external users, remote access, and integration with Microsoft Teams. DataMiner’s vendor-, protocol-, and technology-agnostic data and control plane creates a digital twin of the entire infrastructure and operation.

Practical Application

DataMiner can access information recorded by LogServer, such as programs and commercials distributed on a network, and aggregate this data to provide broadcasters with a comprehensive view of transmissions and their viewership. This integration was first demonstrated at the NAB Show in Las Vegas in April and will be showcased again at IBC 2024 at Mediaproxy’s Stand 5.D72 and Skyline Communications’ Stand 1.A57.

Demonstration at IBC 2024

At IBC 2024, Thomas Gunkel, Global Market Director Broadcast at Skyline Communications, explained that the companies will demonstrate a real-life use case, showcasing the existing connector and a customizable data consumption layer. This layer can analyze SCTE triggers in a stream and filter information about the media status.

By collaborating closely, Mediaproxy and Skyline Communications aim to provide their customers with enhanced tools for media data aggregation and orchestration, improving the overall efficiency and accuracy of broadcast monitoring and analysis.
