Meike has recently unveiled a new lens – the 85mm F1.4 Full Frame Auto Focus Portrait Lens, compatible with both Sony E and Nikon Z mounts.
This lens features a wide aperture range from F1.4 to F16 and offers a focal length of 85mm. It is designed with a filter thread size of 77mm and includes 12 diaphragm blades. The lens is relatively lightweight, weighing approximately 735 grams, and is constructed with 13 elements in 8 groups.
For full-frame cameras, the lens provides an angle of view of 28.87° diagonally, 24.1° horizontally, and 16.14° vertically. In APS-C format, the angle of view shifts to 19° diagonally, 16.14° horizontally, and 10.58° vertically.
One of the key features of this lens is its STM stepping motor, which ensures quiet and smooth focus adjustments. It supports electronic aperture control and can transmit EXIF data. The lens is equipped with a manual aperture ring, allowing users to manually select an aperture between F1.4 and F16. When using the lens with a camera, the aperture can be controlled directly from the camera by setting the lens to the A stop position. For Nikon Z mount users, it’s essential to adjust the manual aperture ring to the A stop when using specific camera modes like S, P, and Auto.
