Miller Tripods Launches SkyFX 9 with Enhanced Capacity for Live VR Broadcasting

Miller Tripods has unveiled the SkyFX 9, an advanced version of its predecessor, the SkyX 8.

This new model integrates pan and tilt positioning encoders, responding to the demand for a live VR fluid head with a higher capacity to support larger cameras and lenses.

Enhanced Capabilities and Design

The SkyFX 9 is a robust solution, offering a load capacity of 40kg (88 pounds), designed to cater to the needs of live broadcast and VR applications. It features an extensive range of adjustments with 16 counterbalance settings and a drag system that includes 7 +0 positions. The inclusion of an ARRI style side loading camera plate, which allows for a 150mm travel, enhances its versatility and ease of use.

Technological Advancements

Equipped with state-of-the-art non-contact high-resolution magnetic encoders, the SkyFX 9 delivers exceptional precision. The pan encoder boasts a resolution of 2.1 million, while the tilt encoder offers a resolution of 1.05 million, ensuring accurate positioning and movement control. The tripod attachment comes standard as a 150mm clawball, with the option to switch to a Mitchell-base, providing flexibility for various setups.
