Miller Tripods, a renowned provider of professional fluid heads and tripods for the film and television industries, has announced the availability of its latest products.
The SkyX 8 fluid head, CinX 8 and 9 large fluid heads, along with the smaller CinX 20, 23, and 25 fluid heads, as well as the CompassXV and AirV fluid heads, are now shipping. These announcements come just in time for Miller to showcase these innovations at the 2024 NAB Show at Booth C6925, marking the company’s 70th anniversary in the industry.
SkyX 8 Fluid Head Features
The SkyX 8 fluid head is designed for professional use, offering 16 positions of stepped counterbalance with CB Plus™ and a 120mm travel large Euro camera plate for fast and repeatable settings. It features a 7+0 positions pan and tilt fluid drag system with Miller’s signature smooth start and stop technology. The head is built from lightweight, high-strength die-cast alloy and rigid composite polymers, making it durable for outdoor use. It can support camera payloads up to 40kg (88Ibs) and ensures smooth pan-tilt fluid actions.
CinX Series Fluid Heads
The CinX 8 and 9 fluid heads, capable of supporting 40kg/88lbs, feature an ARRI compatible side loading camera plate. The CinX 8 comes with a 150mm clawball, while the CinX 9 has a flat base suitable for various adaptors. Both models offer 16 counterbalance steps and a 7+0 position pan and tilt fluid drag system, along with illuminated rear-mounted controls for use in low light.
The smaller CinX 20, 23, and 25 models support up to 14kg/30.8lbs and come equipped with Miller’s Versa universal camera plate. The CinX 20 and 23 models feature a 75mm clawball, and the CinX 25 uses a 100mm clawball. All three models have 16 positions of counterbalance.
New CompassXV and AirV Fluid Heads
Miller is also introducing the CompassXV and the AirV, updates to the CompassX and Air fluid heads, incorporating the new Versa side loading plate. The Versa plate is designed for universal compatibility, allowing seamless transitions between tripods from various manufacturers.
These latest offerings from Miller Tripods are geared towards enhancing the filming experience by providing reliable, user-friendly equipment for camera operators in the demanding film and television production environments.
