Miri Technologies Inc. has recently introduced the Miri X510, a dual-cellular bonding router, after coming out of stealth mode.

The X510 offers users the capability to merge multiple wired and wireless internet connections into a single, reliable link, providing consistent performance even in areas with limited network availability.

Addressing Connectivity Challenges

In today’s digital landscape, reliable internet is essential, yet many individuals experience outages, slow speeds, and inconsistent service. This affects productivity and can result in lost revenue. The Miri X510 addresses these challenges by combining up to seven internet connections to improve reliability and optimize performance for applications like live event streaming and business continuity in remote locations.

Technical Specifications and Features

The X510 integrates channel bonding technology from Speedify, enabling users to combine connections such as Wi-Fi, Gigabit Ethernet, satellite, and mobile data. It features automatic failover, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity even if one provider fails. With the ability to bond both 4G LTE and 5G, the device is suitable for congested environments. The X510 includes two SIM slots (SIM cards not included), two RJ-45 Gigabit Ethernet ports, Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, and two USB ports for additional modems. Speedify’s Pair & Share function allows users to further boost bandwidth by sharing data connections through the Speedify app.

Collaboration with Magewell and Industry Applications

Miri Technologies collaborated with video production specialist Magewell to ensure the X510 meets the needs of broadcasters, live streamers, and video professionals. The router will be showcased at the Magewell booth #753 at the 2024 NAB Show in New York. Unlike systems specifically designed for video contribution, the Miri X510 supports any type of data, including financial transactions and live streams, without being restricted to a specific codec or protocol.

Designed for Demanding Use Cases

According to Ryan Brenneman, CTO of Miri Technologies, the X510 was designed to handle demanding use cases, such as live event streaming and remote production, which require significant bandwidth and reliable connectivity in challenging environments. The device has been successfully tested in locations ranging from Wi-Fi congested convention centers to remote rural areas during high-profile live streams.

Additional Features and Subscription Information

The Miri X510 is compact and includes two slots for hot-swappable NP-F batteries (batteries not included), making it suitable for portable applications like on-location video production. Speedify’s encryption technology secures user data, and customers can select their preferred Speedify server for performance optimization and data sovereignty. Purchases of the X510 include a three-month free subscription to Speedify, which is required for network bonding.
