MRMC: new robot Cinebot Max

MRMC Launches Cinebot Max with Advanced Features for Film Production

Mark Roberts Motion Control (MRMC), a subsidiary of Nikon, has recently unveiled the Cinebot Max, the newest member of its Cinebot family of motion-control camera robots designed for live-action filming.

The Cinebot Max advances beyond its predecessor, the Cinebot Mini, by offering greater payload capacity, extended reach, and broader range of motion. It can handle camera payloads up to 20 kg (44 lb), reach heights of 3.2 meters (10.5 feet), and extend up to 1.75 meters (5.7 feet).

Compact Design for Versatile Use

Designed with compactness in mind, the Cinebot Max can be assembled quickly, making it ideal for use in narrow and hard-to-reach areas. It is both slim and lightweight, and operates on battery power, enhancing its portability and ease of use in various filming locations.

Compatibility and Control

The new robot uses the same track system as the Cinebot Mini, allowing users who already own the Cinebot Mini to easily integrate the Cinebot Max into their existing setups. Additionally, the Cinebot Max features Push Moco control, a manual keyframing interface through MRMC’s Flair Software or the MRMC tracker app, which enables precise control over camera movements. This functionality is particularly useful for creating customized and repeatable motions for complex filming sequences.

Application Across Productions

The Cinebot Max is designed to be versatile, suitable for a range of production scales including independent films, both low and big-budget projects, studio environments, and outdoor locations. Its compatibility with visual effects (VFX) and computer-generated imagery (CGI) workflows also allows for the seamless blending of live-action footage with digital enhancements.
