MultiDyne Video & Fiber Optic Systems is set to introduce the latest iteration of its NanoBrix Series during the NAB Show 2024, held from April 14-17.
This update introduces new functionalities to the extensive collection of compact signal processing solutions. A novel design for the NanoBrix products will also be revealed, featuring a durable enclosure. This development paves the way for a subsequent phase in which users will have the ability to integrate and connect multiple NanoBrix units within a single chassis framework.
Expansion of the NanoBrix Series
Following a strategic acquisition, the NanoBrix Series has become a key component of MultiDyne’s offering, providing a versatile array of solutions for 12G/3G/HD/SD-SDI conversion and distribution. This is essential for managing high volumes of both analog and digital signals efficiently. The series, known for its fiber-optic transceivers, multiplexers/de-multiplexers, distribution amplifiers, and audio embedders/de-embedders, will retain most of its original products while also welcoming new additions.
Launch of New Products
Among the new products introduced is the NB2-12G-HDMI, a 12G to HDMI converter designed for broadcast engineers. This device facilitates the monitoring of 5.1 audio streams and their downmix to stereo for various applications. The converter transforms a 12G 4K SDI signal into HDMI, enabling live confidence monitoring while providing a stereo downmix of the embedded surround signal.
Enhanced Design and Functionality
The NB2-12G-HDMI, along with other updated products in the NanoBrix Series, will feature a refreshed look, incorporating MultiDyne’s recognizable branding with a vibrant orange and black color scheme. These products are designed for convenience, offering 5-volt USB/USB-C power options, an accessory cable, and magnetic mounting capabilities for discreet placement.
Jesse Foster, VP of Products and Western Sales at MultiDyne, highlights the NB2-12G-HDMI’s role in extending the company’s 12G product line for 4K infrastructure. It shares functionalities with the existing NBX-3G-HDMI-DMX, widely used for HD signal monitoring and downmixing. Foster also mentions the addition of 12G connectivity to the HoneyBadger fiber transport platform, emphasizing the problem-solving capabilities of these devices in broadcasting environments.
Future Expansions
The NanoBrix Series is expected to grow further with the introduction of the NB2-10G-TRX, a 10G copper to fiber transceiver offering optional PoE+ support, available in configurations for both single and dual-fiber. This product is designed to integrate seamlessly into the new frame system, alongside the NB2-12G-HDMI and future NanoBrix products.
In addition to showcasing the NanoBrix Series, MultiDyne will also feature the HoneyBadger at their booth. This award-winning, ruggedized field fiber solution addresses the diverse needs of content producers, facilitating the bridging of fiber and IP through high connectivity and dual 1Gb LAN extensions over single-mode fiber strands.
