MultiDyne Video & Fiber Optic Systems is making a significant return to IBC2024, building on its growing momentum in the European market.

The company will introduce its new ST 2110 product line, designed to meet the increasing demand for the adoption of the standard across Europe. The new MDoG Series, featuring SMPTE ST 2110 network interfaces and low-latency JPEG-XS codec options, will debut in Europe after its introduction at NAB.

MDoG Series – MultiDyne’s IP Gateway Solutions

The MDoG Series is MultiDyne’s first true IP gateway solution for uncompressed ST 2110 networks, available as openGear modules. These modules help broadcasters and content creators manage both uncompressed and compressed signals as they transition between legacy systems and IP networks. The modules provide full redundancy and offer a wide bandwidth interface for SDI-to-IP network transitions, supporting uncompressed 4K and HD video transport.

European Adoption of ST 2110

Sebastian Mucha, EVP of R&D and European Operations at MultiDyne, noted that the adoption of the ST 2110 standard is progressing in Europe, particularly in larger markets such as the UK, Germany, and France. These regions are adopting ST 2110 to modernize broadcast infrastructure, support higher resolutions like 4K and 8K, and integrate cloud-based workflows.

ST 2110 Opportunities in Europe

According to Mucha, remote production and multi-vendor environments present significant business opportunities for ST 2110 and JPEG-XS across Europe. The MDoG Series provides nine different variations, allowing broadcasters flexibility in their transition to ST 2110.

Key Features of the MDoG Series
  • MDoG-6060 ST 2110 Gateways: Available in multiple I/O configurations, including 3G-SDI (3×3, 6×2, 2×6) and 12G-SDI (1×1, 2×0, 0x2), with two 25GB network interfaces supporting redundant transport streams.
  • MDoG-6061 JPEG-XS Codecs: These codecs support low-latency TR-08 compliant compression for high-density signal transport over dual 10GB network interfaces.
  • SMPTE ST 2022-7 Compliance: All MDoG modules feature hitless merge functionality, ensuring the integrity of network streams.
New NanoBrix Line Models

MultiDyne will also introduce two new models for its NanoBrix line of throwdown converters:

  • NB2-12G-HDMI: Converts a 12G 4K SDI signal to HDMI 2.0, supporting live confidence monitoring and audio downmixing.
  • NB2-10G-TRX: A 10GbE RJ-45 fiber extender with a POE++ option, available in LC, ST, or WDM single-fiber configurations.
MultiDyne’s European Expansion

In addition to new product announcements, MultiDyne has expanded its European operations by doubling its team and relocating to a larger office space in Gdansk, Poland. This new office will allow the company to better serve its clients across the EMEA region and continue its R&D investments.
