MVD Partners with OBSBOT for AI Camera Distribution

Mobile Video Devices Inc. (MVD), a seasoned distributor of audio and video technology, has announced a strategic partnership with innovative camera manufacturer OBSBOT.

This collaboration entails MVD handling the distribution of OBSBOT’s range of cameras for conferencing and content production across North America. This distribution includes exclusive rights to OBSBOT’s corporate products such as the new Tail Air, an AI-powered 4K PTZ streaming camera, and the acclaimed AI-based Tiny 2 webcam.

OBSBOT: Pioneering AI Camera Technology
Established in 2016 under Remo Technologies, OBSBOT is committed to forging connections between people and the imaging industry with groundbreaking technologies and creative products. The company’s latest leading product, the AI-powered Tail Air live streaming camera, is making waves in content creation circles by offering premium live streaming and recording capabilities coupled with unparalleled flexibility.

Tail Air: Cutting-Edge Camera Features
Tail Air boasts the ability to record in 4K resolution at 30 fps or in 1080p HD at 60 fps. Its enhanced 2-micrometer pixel size and sophisticated camera components allow it to capture brighter and more detailed images with minimal noise, even in low-light conditions. The camera’s advanced AI auto-tracking technology accurately follows people, animals, or objects. Additionally, time-of-flight technology boosts auto-focus performance in various lighting conditions. Tail Air also offers dynamic gesture control for remote recording operations and zoom adjustments. The camera is further equipped with Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) capabilities via a USB-C to Ethernet adapter, supports NDI® HX3 output for video-over-IP production workflows, and includes a smart remote control.

Integration and Compatibility
Beyond its standalone RTMP-based streaming capabilities through the OBSBOT Start app, Tail Air seamlessly integrates with Magewell’s Director Mini multi-camera production and streaming system, also exclusively distributed by MVD. Each Tail Air camera can be used as an HDMI (using a micro-HDMI to HDMI adapter) or NDI® HX3 source for the Director Mini, allowing comprehensive control over pan, tilt, and zoom through the system’s user interface.

MVD’s Role and Expertise
Since 2006, MVD has been a full-service distributor and representative for leading media solutions, focusing on live streaming, video production, conferencing, and collaboration technologies. The company collaborates closely with resellers, system integrators, and OEMs to tailor the perfect video solutions for diverse applications, providing support throughout setup and implementation processes. MVD is also the sole distributor of Magewell solutions in the Americas.

Executive Insights
“MVD is thrilled to incorporate OBSBOT’s camera innovations into our portfolio,” said Darryl Spangler, President of MVD. He highlighted the popularity of OBSBOT’s earlier cameras across various sectors, from social media to academia. “Their latest products, like Tail Air and Tiny 2, elevate video quality and AI-driven automation, making them ideal for a range of settings, including educational institutions, municipal meeting rooms, small churches, collaborative spaces, and live event productions.”

Liu Bo, CEO of OBSBOT, expressed enthusiasm about the new generation of AI-powered streaming cameras and webcams. “This launch marks a significant expansion in our product ecosystem for live streaming, opening up vast opportunities across a wider range of markets and applications,” he said. Bo emphasized that MVD’s proven expertise in the Pro AV, live streaming, and professional production sectors, along with its strong network of systems integrators and resellers, will be instrumental in broadening OBSBOT’s market reach and introducing its innovative products to a larger customer base. “We are excited about this partnership with MVD and its potential for our future success.”
