For the first time, NEP Australia has enhanced its IP and remote production capabilities through the integration of Calrec Argo consoles

NEP Group’s Australian division, NEP Australia, is enhancing its remote production and IP capabilities in its Andrews Hubs located in Sydney and Melbourne.

This advancement includes the launch of three additional production suites in Sydney, named Five, Six, and Seven. Central to this upgrade is the installation of Calrec Argo consoles in each of these new audio control rooms, which marks a significant expansion in NEP’s remote production capacity. These consoles are primarily deployed for mixing National Rugby League games, but they also cater to a range of other sports productions.

NEP Australia, recognized for its comprehensive array of Outside Broadcast (OB) vans and tailor-made studio productions, operates the Andrews Hubs. These Hubs, established in 2018, are notable for being among the largest networked remote production centers globally, built on ST 2110 technology. They connect to 59 sporting venues through a robust high-bandwidth network, facilitating multiple simultaneous outside broadcasts. The key feature of this expansion is the incorporation of a 96-fader Calrec Argo Q console in the largest remote production suite, ACR7, and the addition of Argo S consoles in the other two new suites, ACR5 and ACR6. Each control room is linked to one of NEP’s 2110 OB trucks, allowing remote control of the truck’s equipment.

The Argo consoles by Calrec represent a forward-thinking design in audio mixing, aligning with modern production needs.
