In a significant move to enhance its leadership across Europe, NEP Group has appointed Lise Heidal as the new President of NEP Europe for its Broadcast Services division, starting from April 1.
Operating from Norway, Heidal will be responsible for strategizing and directing the company’s efforts in nine European countries, including the UK and Ireland. Her focus will be on steering the future course for NEP’s broadcast services in these regions.
Heidal’s Background and Experience
With an extensive background spanning over two and a half decades in the media, telecommunications, and consulting sectors, Heidal brings a wealth of experience to her new role. Her leadership style, marked by a pragmatic approach to operational excellence, business transformation, and strategic innovation, has made her a respected figure in the industry. Heidal has a proven track record of building strong teams and promoting a culture of accountability. Before her current appointment, she held the position of Vice President of Production at TV 2, Norway’s leading commercial broadcaster. Her earlier roles include Managing Director at NEP Norway and leadership positions in global initiatives within NEP, contributing to the company’s continuous growth and profitability from 2010 to 2021.
Enhanced Commercial Strategy with New CCO
As part of the leadership reshuffle, Christer Pålsson has been named Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) for Europe, reporting directly to Heidal. In his role as CCO, Pålsson will oversee all commercial and sales operations across the region, coordinating with NEP’s global sales team to ensure unified strategy and execution, especially for major international events. Pålsson’s appointment reflects his rich experience in business leadership, client services, and operational management within NEP and his prior role as Head of International Sales at Mediatec Broadcasting, which merged with NEP in 2015.
Additional Leadership Appointments
Supporting the new leadership structure, Jose (Tex) Teixeira will join NEP as President for NEP Nordics, Central & Southern Europe on April 4. Teixeira, with over 30 years of experience in sports broadcasting across various continents, brings expertise in content strategy, programming, and production. He has held significant positions, including Chief Content Officer and Interim CEO at SuperSport.
Arjan van Westerloo and Steve Jenkins will maintain their current positions as President, NEP The Netherlands, and President, NEP UK & Ireland, respectively, contributing to the continuity and strength of the European leadership team.
Company Vision and Goals
Mike Werteen, Global President of NEP Broadcast Services, expressed enthusiasm about the new leadership team, emphasizing the potential to achieve the company’s ambition of becoming the premier global media services provider in live sports and entertainment. Heidal echoed this sentiment, expressing her commitment to fostering collaboration and excellence across Europe.
The immediate focus for the new leadership team will be to enhance collaboration and streamline processes across the region, aligning with NEP’s goals for 2024 and beyond.
