NEP partnered with BBC Studios Events to provide broadcast space for the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations over public holiday weekend.
Led by project manager Richard Lancaster, NEP hosted an outside broadcast at five separate events, including the BBC Platinum Anniversary Concert and the pageant.
NEP’s outdoor broadcast carts included Venus, Sargasso and Voyager, providing coverage with a range of cameras. The BBC is the leading broadcaster.
The holiday weekend kicked off with a parade to celebrate the Queen’s birthday on Thursday, followed by the lighting of the commemorative lighthouses. On Saturday, the highlight of the weekend took place – the BBC Platinum Anniversary Concert outside Buckingham Palace. Collaboration with BBC Events, BT Broadcast & Media provided host and Creative Technology connectivity; was a spectacular event.
NEP Connect provided a crew and connection to BBC Studios Kids&Family for live inserts on CBBC Mash-Up and Blue Peter with hosts and the iconic Stanley Monster Puppet, who interviewed all guest artists backstage.
Creative Technology provided the technical supply for the beautiful projections of Buckingham Palace and the LED screens for the main stage for the festivities. Custom graphics displayed on NorthHouse Creative screens with camera images provided by NEP for broadcast production. The LED screens were also used for Thursday’s parade, the Thanksgiving service at St. Paul’s Cathedral on Friday, and the pageant on Sunday.
The weekend ended with an anniversary pageant on Sunday afternoon. The NEP provided the broadcast for the show.
