Nixer Pro Audio will unveil several new customer-driven AoIP solutions and enhancements at IBC 2024, taking place from September 13-16, 2024, at Rai, Amsterdam.
These innovations aim to optimize broadcast operations across various scenarios.
Launch of RP64 Pro Digital Patch Panel
As part of Nixer’s plan to introduce ‘Pro’ variants of their RP, RS, and RLC products, the company will present the new RP64 Pro, a 64-channel digital patch panel with improved features. This device allows for rapid re-routing of critical signals from a dedicated operator or engineering position in the event of equipment failure, enabling near-instant patching reconnection without relying on cumbersome software patching via a laptop.
Introduction of RLC64 CV1 Dante AoIP Monitoring Solution
Nixer will also debut the ultra-compact RLC64 CV1 Dante AoIP monitoring solution, ideal for use in control rooms, galleries, and edit suites. This 1RU 19” unit includes dual high-quality headphone outputs.
Demonstration of PD Ravenna Monitoring Unit
Visitors to IBC can view Nixer’s new PD Ravenna in action. This small portable audio monitoring unit is designed for broadcast control rooms and outside broadcast (OB) production vehicles, capable of monitoring up to 64 Ravenna/AES67/ST2110 channels.
Updates to WL64-4 and RD Dante Products
Nixer will introduce new features for its WL64-4 and the second version of its RD Dante products. The WL64-4 now includes a new menu that provides audio engineers with a clear overview of the device’s status. Signal metering for each of the four independent WL64-4 output mixes generated by each iPad is easily gauged, along with the status of the SSID of the wireless adapter. The control port IP address is now auto-assigned on bootup.
Enhanced Connectivity for RD Dante v2
The RD Dante v2 features additional USB-C connectivity for easy firmware upgrades and an extra rear balanced line input on XLR, complementing the AES I/O. This premium engineering tool aids engineers in commissioning, testing, and setting up Dante networks.
Preview of New PD Milan and Evie64m OEM Card
At IBC, Nixer will preview the new PD Milan portable monitoring unit and Evie64m OEM card. The compact PD Milan allows for easy monitoring of up to 64 audio channels. Milan™ is a standards-based deterministic network protocol for real-time media.
Display of Nixer’s Comprehensive Product Range
Nixer’s range includes products for confidence checking, listening, test and diagnostics for all network audio applications. This includes solutions for quick, simple network audio routing and patching, change-over switches for backup source selection and resource sharing, and wireless streaming for audio monitoring in live production applications.
Features of Nixer’s Products
- PD Dante and RL Series: The PD Dante handheld monitor, analyser, and test signal generator allows monitoring of up to 64 channels of audio both audibly on internal speakers or headphones and visually on meters, operated via a large 5.0” colour LCD and capacitive touch panel.
- RL Series: The RL Series offers four base models with up to 256 channels of audio monitoring, allowing confidence checking of both Dante and Ravenna/AES67/SMPTE2110 networks from the same operator position.
- RLC64 AoIP: A monitoring and mixing engine for up to 64 channels of Dante or Ravenna. This 1RU 19” confidence monitor is fully AES67 and ST 2110 compliant, featuring a clear intuitive display ideal for rapid source selection during fast-moving and demanding live events.
- RS32: A 32-way rapid manual AoIP change-over switch, ideal for backup in live events and theatre productions or for the sharing of equipment resources.
“Our network audio IP solutions are designed to simplify the transition to IP and make it more cost-effective,” says Nixer Pro Audio’s founder & CEO, Nick Fletcher. “Their plug-and-play operation with a super-intuitive UI meets the needs of high-pressure environments.”
