At the 2024 NAMM Show, NUGEN Audio will be presenting their latest utility plug-ins at Booth 16000.
These tools, designed for artists, music producers, and engineers of varying expertise, aim to simplify and enhance their creative workflows. The products being showcased include AB Assist 2, Jotter, and Aligner.
AB Assist 2: The Modern ABX Machine
AB Assist 2 stands out as a modernized version of traditional ABX machines. This tool offers an intuitive way for engineers to compare multiple pieces of audio material. It has the capability to handle up to four different audio takes, plug-in options, mix revisions, or master versions, including surround mixes of any channel count. Notable features include linked plug-in instances for direct communication, a blind test function for unbiased comparison, an auto-level match for loudness normalization, a mono-check feature, and a trimming function to equalize perceived loudness levels.
Aligner: Automatic Phase and Polarity Alignment Tool
Aligner is crafted to automatically correct phase and polarity, streamlining the alignment process. It’s equipped with automatic linking for multiple plug-in instances within a single session. The plug-in is versatile, useful for aligning multitrack recordings with varying microphone distances or correcting reversed microphone polarity. It also offers manual adjustments for sample delay or phase, catering to users who prefer hands-on fine-tuning.
Jotter: Collaborative Sound Editing Tool
Jotter revolutionizes collaboration in sound editing. It enables seamless interaction between editors and clients, regardless of location. Clients can load mixes into Jotter, annotate them, and export notes for the mixing engineer. The notes are time-stamped for precision and exported in CSV format. Jotter also introduces accessibility features, such as screen reader support and keyboard shortcuts for visually impaired users. Available both as a fully licensed plug-in and a free standalone app, Jotter ensures comprehensive management tools for all collaborators.
These innovative plug-ins by NUGEN Audio, as described by Product Specialist Freddy Vinehill-Cliffe, have gained significant attention in the sound industry for their workflow enhancement capabilities. The NAMM Show attendees will have the opportunity to experience these tools firsthand, underscoring NUGEN Audio’s commitment to advancing audio technology and aiding professionals in the field.
