Hedge, a Dutch software company known for applications like Arctic and Canister, has released a significant update for its media management app, OffShoot.
The new version, OffShoot 24.2, introduces three main features: Independent Sources, Batch Review, and Moving Files.
Independent Sources Feature
The Independent Sources feature in OffShoot 24.2 allows users to specify whether they want to consider a selection of files and folders as a single Collection or as Independent Sources. This eliminates the need to drag folders individually to label them, streamlining the process.
Batch Review Function
The Batch Review function provides users with the ability to review a Preset for each source separately. Users can choose to review sources one by one or simultaneously. The default workflow, Batch Add Sources, is ideal for workflows that do not require a Preset or if the Preset does not need custom elements like Project, Scene, or Take. If the Preset contains custom elements for each source, the Batch Add Sources feature sequentially displays the Review panel for each source.
Moving Files Capability
The Moving Files capability enables users to move their data within OffShoot, bypassing Finder and Explorer. This prevents users from losing track of their data. OffShoot detects when the Source and Destination are on the same volume and allows for moving the data instead of copying it.
Price and Availability
OffShoot 24.2 is available for purchase at $149 for new licenses and $79 for extending an old license.
These new features demonstrate their value when used together and mark a significant improvement in the functionality of OffShoot with each update.
