The first live event, held on August 6th, attracted a substantial number of registrations and included participants from various sectors, such as broadcasters, Language Service Providers (LSPs), and freelancers globally.

Alex Yoffe, OOONA’s Product Manager for the Toolkit, led the session. He demonstrated the key tools within the suite:

  • Create & Translate: For creating and editing timed-text subtitles in any language.
  • Review: For reviewing, editing, and quality control of subtitles and captions.
  • Transcribe: For generating script files and dialogue lists.
  • Audio Description: For editing audio description scripts and recording them either in the cloud or using synthetic speech technology.
  • Compare: An online tool for comparing two subtitle files side by side, including aspects like timing, text, style, and positioning.
  • Subtitle Converter: A tool that supports conversion between over 70 subtitle and caption file formats.
Key Highlights

The first webinar offered a broad overview of the toolkit, emphasizing features like Japanese subtitle formatting support and audio description recording. The session ended with a brief introduction to OOONA Integrated, the company’s flagship solution that integrates all OOONA tools for managing media localization workflows using both machine and human resources.
