Panasonic Connect Europe has recently launched its innovative Media Production Suite, a software-based platform designed to integrate various PC software tools for Panasonic’s professional camera systems.
This unified platform facilitates a more intuitive and efficient video production process by consolidating multiple functionalities into a single, user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI) screen. Aimed at simplifying on-site video production, the suite is initially available at no cost, with an array of additional paid plug-ins that are planned for future expansion.
Enhanced Video Production for Academic and Corporate Use
Recognizing the growing reliance on video in academic and corporate sectors, the Media Production Suite is engineered to simplify camera setup and offer a plethora of features. These features enable the production of high-quality videos even by small teams or individuals with limited technical expertise. The suite’s intuitive touch-based GUI screen is particularly designed to facilitate easy operation, allowing even non-specialists to produce professional-grade videos.
Core and Advanced Features
The Media Production Suite comes with essential free functions such as Device View and PTZ Control. Device View allows for centralized management of multiple PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) cameras from a single PC. This feature encompasses a range of management tasks including network settings, status monitoring, and camera power control. It can automatically detect connected cameras, facilitating simultaneous network settings adjustments and firmware updates for multiple devices.
The PTZ Control feature provides users with the ability to remotely adjust camera movements, including pan, tilt, and zoom, along with other settings such as focus, iris, gain, white balance, shutter speed, and ND filter. This control is accessible via a PC and supports up to 100 presets for streamlined operation.
Additionally, Panasonic offers a variety of paid plug-ins to enhance the suite’s functionality. These include auto-tracking, which utilizes facial recognition and body detection for smooth and accurate tracking of subjects, and the soon-to-be-released Video Mixer plug-in. This upcoming plug-in incorporates AI technology for AI Keying, eliminating the need for green screens in background composition, even in outdoor environments. It will support Picture-in-Picture processing, automatic video switching linked to microphones, and various input/output options like SDI, NDI®, and SRT.
Another notable paid plug-in is Visual Presets, which simplifies multi-angle productions by allowing users to direct multiple PTZ cameras at a subject with a simple click. It also enables linking a PTZ camera with a Panasonic wireless microphone, facilitating automated video capture of speakers, such as in hybrid conference scenarios.
